The U.S. government filed a lawsuit on Tuesday seeking an order to enforce the removal of three Corporation for Public Broadcasting board members who were fired by President Trump in April but remain in their roles following a June district court order declining to grant a preliminary injunction barring their firings. Bob Bauer argued that TikTok providers are evading or refusing to answer key questions about their noncompliance with the ban-or-divest statute. (Executive Functions.)
Sarah Elaine Harrison contended that a number of loopholes in U.S. statutes have enabled the Trump administration to “very publicly pay[] another country to arguably commit gross violations of human rights,” and that Congress should pass legislation prohibiting these payments. (Lawfare.)

Trump v. Mary Boyle: Government filed application on July 2 to stay district court order that invalidated Trump’s firing of three members of the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Plaintiffs filed response to application on July 11. Government filed reply on July 14.
